Academic Technology is pleased to announce the formation of a new unit within
Learning Technology called "Academic System Engineering." This group will
manage academic servers (GDOC, Windows Domain, SmartForce, etc). They
will also work on programming tasks related to automating academic processes.
The first product of this group is a new scheduling system for Academic
Advising. During FY03, programming work for LT: ASE will focus on systems
for CAPSS (Center for Academic Programs and Student Services).

Elwyn Canning will continue as Manager for both sub-units in Learning
Technology: Academic System Engineering (ASE) and e-Learning. Earl Parks
will continue as e-Learning Coordinator.

Respicius Batamula (Res) is moving from e-Learning to ASE. Shannon Kennedy
is moving from Client and Multimedia Services to e-Learning. Maria Petrova will
take over as Multimedia Reservations Specialist, on a temporary basis until a
formal job search is completed.

Our search for an e-Learning Facilitator in Digital Media will be complete in the
next few weeks. At that time, e-Learning will review staffing to ensure the best
fit between our staff and the academic departments they serve. For updated info
